National Award Support Worker of the year 2024 Winner Sona Simon
Today's hashtag#feelgoodfriday clip is a tribute to our National Support Worker of the Year, Sona Simon. She deservedly won the judges' hearts for everything she did for the people she continues to support.
Sona arrived at Abbeymead Lodge like a breath of fresh air in April 2022. Her positivity and willingness to help are unmatched; nothing is ever too much trouble.
She has a sunny disposition and always has a smile on her face.
The people we support respond very well to her, and she has fitted into the team seamlessly.
She took on various roles in addition to being a support worker, focusing on activities, particularly the special event days like ‘National Fish and Chip Day’, where she completes displays on the notice boards with the people we support, including the history of the events and hand-drawn posters to illustrate for all to enjoy.
Sona has embraced her role in maintaining the home's health and safety records, and her engineering degree has come in handy on many occasions!
